Descendants of William YORK & Lydia BURSON (married abt 1781 in NC) please contact querist. William & Lydia moved from Georgia to Preble Co., OH, before March 1808. Their son Jeptha's marriage to Susanna SLADE is the first recorded marriage in the county. Most of these moved to IN in the 1830's. However, their daughter Mahala married John R. WILLIAMS (s/o Rev. Other daughters of William and Lydia married in Preble Co. into the WINEGARDNER, MATTOX, and ELLIOTT families but these all moved into Indiana.
Jeptha and Susanna had 8 children in Preble Co. The four eldest daughters married in Preble Co. into the PRIBBLE, ENOCH, and SHULL families. All of these also moved into Indiana.
